UCIS Leads

The GP&E Team within the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Global Affairs will lead planning and execution of:

  • senior-level visits
  • meetings for high-level international dignitaries and delegations
  • visits from strategic partners of the University of Pittsburgh
  • other high profile visits with greater ties to either Pitt or the city of Pittsburgh

While the global partnerships team may lead the logistical planning for these visits, your role as a content expert within your school, department, or office is critical to ensure that all delegation visits are strategic, productive, and mutually-beneficial to all hosts and visitors.

For delegations hosted by the University Center for International Studies, the GP&E team will contact supporting schools, departments, and offices directly to:

  • Provide information and greater objectives of the delegation visit
  • Discuss your global goals and potential alignment with the delegation institution
  • Request your expertise in identifying the most important and potentially impactful meetings, agenda items, and experiences for these visitors to ensure that their visit is productive, mutually beneficial, and can move the needle forward in our global collaboration.

You may be asked to identify:

  • Areas of mutual interest and interest/capacity in exploring collaboration opportunities
  • Key faculty, community members/organizations, and other thought leaders who are best equipped to meet with delegations
  • Insight to productive tours on campus or with city or community organizations
  • Relevant historical context or other insights in to Pitt's past or potential engagement with the visiting delegation
  • Log post-meeting details in to the global engagement database

The global partnerships team is happy to take on the extremely large logistical and scheduling commitment, allowing you, the content experts, time to focus on goals, outcomes, and ways in which to best facilitate global collaboration.
